Martín Estrada Valencia

Postdoctoral Researcher.

PhD Medicinal Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry Institute (CSIC).
M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
B.Sc. Chemistry, Universidad de Nariño (Colombia).

Martín’s scientific interest is focused on the design and synthesis of new Multitarget molecules with potential use in the therapy of neurodegenerative diseases, such as, Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease. Martín has been involved in several projects aiming different pharmacological targets, such as, the oxidative stress (Nrf2, MAO), neuroinflammation (5-lipooxigenase), mitochondrial dysfunction (sigma1 receptor) and neurogenesis. Currently he is focused on the design and synthesis of new non electrophilic disruptors of the protein-protein interaction between Keap1 and Nrf2.
