NeuroProtectionLab (GT1, Coordinator)

The NeuroprotectionLab group is part of the Teófilo Hernando Institute for Drug Discovery (ITH) at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM).

Our main lines of research pursue improving the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and cerebral ischemia through the  development of neuroprotective drugs, the identification of new potentially therapeutic targets, the study of the mechanism of action of drugs already marketed, or drug repositioning.

Since 2012, we have published 55 papers and registered 4 patents, in addition to maintaining regular collaborations with pharmaceutical companies (Janssen Cilag, Lilly, Pfizer, Bioiberica, Ferrer, Noscira).
